Enjoy the stunning sunrise over Lake Huron. The breathtaking glow of the lake awaits you. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron in Michigan’s thumb, Harbor Beach is surrounded by farmland and woods. The area offers an outdoor lover’s paradise with unlimited opportunities for boating, sailing, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, vacation, and fun family recreation opportunities throughout the whole year. A bicycle/pedestrian walking path connects the campground, marina, parks, beach, and the community’s business district. The world’s largest freshwater man-made harbor provides great fishing opportunities from aboard a boat, or from the break wall.  Judge James H Lincoln Memorial Park is an access site for the new Tip of the Thumb Heritage Water Trail, a 90 mile trail along Lake Huron’s coast line.

Rich in history, there is much to see in the Thumb of Huron County. The Chamber of Commerce is proud of the six scenic parks, two historical museums, churches, community library, and theatre. Harbor Beach has a first rate campground located amid 142 wooded acres. Within walking distance of the business district, is the 114 slip municipal marina for dockage of seasonal or transient boats. The Harbor Beach Marina has six launch pads for the boater who trailers his craft.

This is the place to get information about lodging , dining, and shopping in the area. The Chamber of Commerce visitor’s center is located downtown, at 146 South Huron Avenue.

The Harbor Beach Chamber of Commerce strives to promote the businesses within Harbor Beach and the surrounding areas. Through community events such as Souper Saturday, Harvest Festival,  and Citywide Garage Sales, the Harbor Beach Chamber of Commerce works to better the community in which we live. The Annual Harbor Beach Maritime Festival is a terrific opportunity to enjoy a weekend of great water sports, entertainment, and fun in the sun.

The fun and adventure does not end when the weather turns cold. Hunting and fishing flourish for the year round sportsman for small game and whitetail deer. Sportsmen and women can access Lake Huron through a municipal and local private marina. Crisp snow-white winters create sparkling scenes and perfect conditions for snowmobiling, sledding, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and picture taking.

Harbor Beach is home to nearly two thousand residents in its city and surrounding area. An excellent kindergarten through twelfth grade school district serves the community. The local government is truly concerned about the needs of its residents. A skilled hospital provides excellent health care to the community. A first-rate fire department and full time police department help residents and visitors enjoy the safety and security of small town living.

Just under two hours from metropolitan Detroit, the pleasant trip to Harbor Beach and Michigan’s thumb offers a getaway that will be remembered for years to come.
